SAN DIEGO – As The Resistance approaches the hundred-day milestone, Indivisible groups across San Diego County celebrate our successes and plan another full week of events. District 50 constituents continue to collect hundreds of signatures demanding Rep. Duncan Hunter hold another town hall in a larger venue to accommodate high demand for participation. Here are more Indivisible activities for the week of April 24.

TUESDAY APRIL 25

10 – 11:30

Resist Trump Tuesday: Issa’s Wall of Shame

1800 Thibodo Rd. Vista 92081                 

Rally at Rep. Darrell Issa’s district office (CA-49) to illustrate, with oversized “bricks”, who will really pay for Trump’s border wall. Trump may hold the government hostage this week to secure wall funding. Republican budget cuts mean the wall will be built on the backs of children, seniors, women, immigrants and other vulnerable citizens. Speakers will represent those who will foot the bill.

Film Screening & Panel Discussion: “Now Is The Time: Healthcare for Everybody”

Lemon Grove Public Library 3001 School Lane Lemon Grove 91945

This documentary explores what people power can do to overcome obstacles to providing health care for all. Panelists will discuss SB 562, the California bill to create a universal health care system for the state. Indivisible Watu of Lemon Grove hosts the event.

Facebook & Neighbor-to-Neighbor Training

Escondido Indivisible and Escondido Chamber of Citizens conduct outreach training on best practices to utilize Facebook; how to turn neighbors into allies; how to register voters; and more.

 

WEDNESDAY APRIL 26

Indivisible San Diego Central General Meeting

The group will conduct activism training and plan for community outreach at the Climate March.

 

THURSDAY APRIL 27

7 PM

The Impact of Federal Environmental Protections and How to Make a Difference

A former official of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will address the federal role of the Clean Power Plan, Clean Water Act, the Paris Agreement and other protections that are under threat by the Trump administration. Indivisible San Diego Central is cosponsor of this march, one of hundreds across the nation to defend our environment from the Trump administration’s threats to the future of our planet, the safety of our communities and the health of our families. Many Indivisible groups will march.

Indivisible North San Diego County members will participate in the national People’s Climate March.
