OCTOBER 14, 2017
SAN DIEGO – Rep. Darrell Issa is in for a raucous recess week in CA-49 as voters clamor for answers on the impact of the Republican budget plan on average citizens. Despite being in a “district work week”, Issa failed to host an in-person town hall and has yet to accept the invitation of constituents who rented a hall in Oceanside to accommodate him. From mobile billboards to an airplane flyover to a 20’ chicken, District 49 is determined to encourage its representative to take questions on a federal budget that impacts all of our lives.

Money Talks: A Town Hall on the Federal Budget
Quantum Learning Network 1938 Avenida del Oro Oceanside 92056
Rep. Darrell Issa has been invited to attend a citizens’ town hall on the federal budget. Budget proposals by Trump and the Republican Congress would have a significant impact on District 49 citizens, as massive amounts of federal money are redistributed from vital programs like Medicare and Medicaid to fund tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy. Boondoggle immigration spending on detention facilities and the border wall will also be addressed, as these GOP priorities impact our region. The event is scheduled during a district work week to enable Issa to directly engage with constituents. It is hosted by 49th District Action Council, Health Access California and the North County Immigration Task Force.
