SAN DIEGO – After last week’s stunning news that: 1) Rep. Darrell Issa will not run for reelection in CA49; 2) federal prosecutors are convening a grand jury for Rep. Duncan Hunter; 3) Issa may run in CA50 if Hunter resigns; and 4) Hunter says he won’t resign; Indivisible and its coalition partners continue the work to flip both CA49 and CA50 blue.

 

This week, rallies in both districts will focus on the 2018 elections. A special Resistance Road Trip next week will sends a message to Issa as he circles the perishing political career of his colleague Hunter like a buzzard waiting for death.

Flip CA 50th raised $7,500 to display a new billboard telling voters that Rep. Duncan Hunter is under criminal investigation. As a grand jury hears evidence this month on Hunter’s campaign finance troubles, CA50 voters will be educated about their congressman’s ethics. The billboard location ensures 445,000 impressions per week for four weeks. Indivisible members and others will rally with Democratic candidate Ammar Campa-Najjar and commit to reminding voters throughout 2018 that Hunter lacks integrity and does not represent his district’s values.

TUESDAY JANUARY 23

Repeal the Trump Tax Rallies

Voters will rally in CA49 at 10 AM, outside the Vista office of Rep. Darrell Issa, then board a bus to join a noon rally at Rep. Duncan Hunter’s Temecula office in CA50 to oppose Hunter’s vote for the GOP tax bill. The message to Rep. Hunter is that the united resistance is coming for your seat after you voted to raise our taxes. The message to Rep. Issa is that if you decide to run for Congress in CA50, the resistance will follow and defeat you there.

The billboard is on northbound I15, just south of Mission Road in Fallbrook.

 

Directions:

Take the Mission Road exit off of the I15 and go east.  Turn left (north) on Sterling View Road/Old Hwy 395.  Go approx. 1/4 mile and the location is on the right just before you reach a pottery business (no business sign).  

 

Parking:

  1. Some parking is available on the west side of Old Hwy 395 going south.  Park along the chain link fence, staying clear of the bike lane.
  2. Turn right on Mission Rd.  Note that there isn’t a street sign at the corner.  The street is just before the pottery shop.  Limited dirt parking is available immediately on the right.
  3. Turn right on Mission Rd., going south past Victoria.  Some parking on the east side after Victoria.
