INDIVISIBLE CA50 TO ENDORSE HUNTER OPPONENT, NDIVISIBLE TO PROTEST AT COURTHOUSE IF MUELLER IS FIRED
December 18, 2017
DECEMBER 18, 2017
SAN DIEGO – Outside Rep. Darrell Issa’s office, Indivisible 49 and allies will be joined by a 20’ chicken to protest the House vote on the GOP tax bill and Congress’ delay in passing a clean DREAM Act. This event marks the 49th consecutive anti-Issa rally in 2017 and the one-year anniversary of the first Vista protest in 2016. Indivisible CA50 this week will announce its endorsement of a Democrat to challenge Rep. Duncan Hunter. And organizers prepare for San Diego’s response to the possible firing of Special Counsel Robert Mueller by President Trump.
TUESDAY DECEMBER 19
10 – 11 AM
“No to GOP Tax Scam, Yes to Clean DREAM Act” Rally
1800 Thibodo Road Vista 92081
Constituents of Rep. Darrell Issa will protest the GOP tax bill under the gaze of the Trump Chicken, a 20’ inflatable fowl that is the mascot of the #NotOnePenny campaign. San Diego immigrants designed and sewed a Grinch costume for the chicken, to symbolize that Trump’s tax bill is stealing from the American people, not a “Christmas gift”, as he claims. The U.S. House is scheduled to vote on the final bill on Tuesday.
Rally goers will also hear from Dreamers who need Issa’s support to get Congress to pass a clean DREAM Act and protects hundreds of thousands from deportation.
THURSDAY DECEMBER 21
Indivisible CA50 Endorsement Announcement
The winner of the Indivisible endorsement of a Democrat to challenge Hunter will be announced by press release and social media on Thursday. After the holidays, a rally with the candidate will kick off the 2018 election season on Saturday, January 6 at the San Marcos Historical Society. Details to follow.
