“Captain America said, ‘The strength of this country isn’t in brick and steel. It’s in the hearts of those who have sworn to fight for its freedom.‘ We stand with all in this country who are not free — who are victimized, marginalized and outcast,” said Event Chair, actress Chase Masterson from The Flash and Star Trek. “And we demand the right to equality, liberty, safety, justice and opportunity for all.”

“In this atmosphere of hate and division being pushed upon us by our current administration, we must recognize the humanity in each other & UNITE. Indivisible is dedicated to fighting for immigrant rights, social, racial, and environmental justice, LGBTQI+ and women’s rights, health care, gun violence prevention, and the future of our Democracy,” said Wendy Batterson of San Diego Indivisible.

“Our daily work is based on the very understanding of ‘injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere’ as powerfully summarized by Dr. Martin Luther King” says Bettina Hausmann, Executive Director of U.N. Association San Diego. “To Partner with Chase Masterson and our diverse and dedicated local community organizations on this Justice Rally is an honor and a welcomed obligation in response to continued violations on our human rights.”

Representative John Lewis’ Policy Advisor Andrew Aydin said, “In pop culture, beings from all galaxies and universes are welcome. We rally to affirm that here in America, we respect the dignity and worth of every human being, and all are welcome.” With Lewis, Aydin is Co-Author of IDW Publishing’s graphic novels, the award-winning MARCH Trilogy, and RUN, due out in 2019.

Again, this event is not affiliated with San Diego Comic-Con or its parent organization, Comic-Con International.
